Appearance and accessibility
Theme, text size, reduced motion, tooltips and interface language.
The theme and text size are applied on the server, so the first frame of every page is already correct. There is no flash of the wrong theme.
Match my device follows your operating system setting and changes with it. Light and Dark override it in both directions.
Larger text scales the whole interface rather than only the body copy, so layouts reflow instead of clipping.

Questions
-
I changed the theme and nothing happened.
The choices save when you press Save preferences at the bottom of the page - selecting a radio button on its own does not save it.
-
What does the interface language change?
The interface itself: navigation, buttons, labels and headings. Anything you have written stays exactly as you wrote it, and the legal pages stay in English, because a mistranslated privacy policy would be worse than an English one.
-
Does reduced motion do anything if my device already asks for it?
Your device setting is respected on its own. The switch is there for people whose device does not ask but who would still rather have less movement.
